Critical day for US inflation
The US September inflation report, closely watched by global financial markets, is scheduled for release today.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will publish the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data on Wednesday, October 14, at 3:30 p.m. Türkiye time. In August, annual inflation stood at 3.4%, while monthly inflation was recorded at 0.4%.
The upcoming figures are crucial for expectations surrounding the Federal Reserve's (Fed) interest rate policy. Higher-than-expected inflation could strengthen the likelihood of the Fed maintaining its restrictive monetary policy stance, while softer inflation could ease pressure for further rate hikes. The release may trigger volatility in the US Dollar Index, gold prices, US Treasury yields, and global equity markets.
