Markets await US and European PMI data

Global markets will closely monitor the preliminary Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data for October, scheduled for release on Friday, October 23, 2026.

The figures for Germany, France, the Eurozone, and the United States will provide insights into business activity in the manufacturing and services sectors, offering important signals about the direction of economic growth. The Eurozone's composite PMI is scheduled for release at 11:00 a.m. Türkiye time, followed by the preliminary US PMI figures at 4:45 p.m.

Rising energy prices and geopolitical risks are increasing production costs, adding to uncertainty surrounding the global economic growth and inflation outlook. PMI readings above 50 indicate an expansion in business activity, while readings below 50 signal a contraction. Investors will closely assess how the results could influence monetary policy expectations for the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank (ECB).
