Key U.S. housing market data due today

Two major economic reports offering insights into the U.S. housing market are scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

The S&P Cotality Case-Shiller Home Price Index will be published at 4:00 p.m. Türkiye time, followed by September new home sales data at 5:00 p.m. The Case-Shiller report, which will reflect changes in home prices during August, is expected to show a 2.6% annual increase across 20 major U.S. cities. Meanwhile, new home sales will provide an updated indication of housing demand.

Elevated mortgage rates and homeownership costs remain among the key factors shaping the U.S. real estate market. An acceleration in home price growth could have implications for the inflation outlook, while weaker sales may signal continued pressure on consumer demand. With the Federal Reserve beginning its two-day monetary policy meeting on the same day, the housing reports could influence investors' assessments of the U.S. economy's resilience. The actual results of both reports have not yet been released.
