U.S. nonfarm payrolls beat expectations

U.S. nonfarm payrolls increased by 165,000 in October, significantly exceeding market expectations of 70,000.

The previous month's employment figure was also revised upward from 29,000 to 60,000. The data showed that job growth in the U.S. labor market was considerably stronger than anticipated.

Meanwhile, the U.S. unemployment rate declined from 4.2% to 4.1%, coming in below market expectations of 4.2%. Nonfarm payroll figures for the previous two months were revised upward by a combined 84,000 jobs, further reinforcing the labor market's strong performance. Stronger-than-expected job growth and the decline in the unemployment rate are significant factors shaping expectations for the Federal Reserve's (Fed) future interest rate policy.
