Fuel prices set for another sharp increase in Türkiye
Fuel prices in Türkiye could face another round of significant increases as rising global oil prices, exchange rate fluctuations, and concerns over energy supplies intensify cost pressures on gasoline and diesel.
If the anticipated price hikes take effect, gasoline prices could exceed TL 80 per liter, while diesel prices may rise above TL 100 per liter.
According to industry estimates, an increase in the Special Consumption Tax (SCT), expected to take effect on November 1, could raise gasoline prices by TL 4.15 per liter and diesel prices by TL 3.60 per liter, including value-added tax (VAT). If implemented, gasoline prices in Istanbul would climb from TL 76.30 to TL 80.45 per liter, while diesel prices would rise from TL 96.90 to TL 100.50. Reports also suggest a potential TL 9 per liter increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, which could push prices above TL 50 in several major cities. As the proposed increases have not yet been finalized, the new pump prices will become clear when the adjustments take effect.
