Corporate bankruptcies in Türkiye forecast to rise 31%
Allianz Trade forecasts that corporate bankruptcies in Türkiye will increase by 31% in 2026 before declining by 7% in 2027, according to its latest Global Insolvency Report.
The report revealed that bankruptcies in Türkiye surged 44% during the first half of the year. High financing costs, weak economic growth, and rising energy expenses continue to pressure companies' financial positions, with construction, retail, and services identified as particularly vulnerable sectors.
Globally, corporate insolvencies are expected to rise by 5% in 2026 and a further 1% in 2027. Allianz Trade warned that elevated interest rates and energy costs are squeezing corporate profit margins, putting 2.7 million jobs worldwide directly at risk during the 2026–2027 period. In Türkiye, however, declining inflation and economic rebalancing are expected to support a gradual recovery, with bankruptcies projected to decrease by 7% in 2027 and 2% in 2028.
