German industrial production rises
Germany's industrial production increased 0.7% month over month, exceeding market expectations for a 0.1% decline.
However, growth slowed from the previous period's 2.0% increase. The figures indicated continued expansion in industrial activity, although monthly momentum weakened.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose 0.4%, falling short of market expectations of 1.2%. The significant slowdown from the previous 2.33% growth rate highlighted the fragility of Germany's industrial recovery. The data could influence Germany's economic growth outlook and European Central Bank (ECB) monetary policy expectations.
