German ZEW economic sentiment falls below expectations

Germany's ZEW Economic Sentiment Index declined to 28.1, missing market expectations of 30.0.

The index fell 6.6 points from the previous reading of 34.7, signaling weaker expectations among investors and financial market experts regarding Germany's economic outlook.

Meanwhile, the ZEW Current Conditions Index improved to -35.9, outperforming the market forecast of -44.5 and the previous reading of -47.1. Although assessments of current economic conditions improved, the index remained in negative territory, indicating persistent economic weakness. The figures remain relevant to Germany's growth outlook, the euro and European Central Bank (ECB) monetary policy expectations.
