Anthropic outlines ambitious AI growth forecast

Jack Clark, co-founder of Anthropic, said rapid advances in artificial intelligence could substantially accelerate economic growth.

Speaking at the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, Clark revealed that one of the company's internal models projects US economic output could reach $44 trillion by 2030.

Clark acknowledged that the projection is highly ambitious compared with the US economy's current size of just over $30 trillion. Achieving such growth would require AI-driven scientific advances to generate new industries and products. The remarks highlight the technology's potential long-term economic impact, but the $44 trillion figure remains an internal scenario rather than an independently verified forecast or guaranteed outcome.
