European natural gas prices retreat
The Dutch TTF benchmark natural gas contract fell 3.7% to €96.59 per megawatt-hour on the morning of October 29. Prices had exceeded €100 in the previous session, reaching their highest level since December 2022.
Expectations of renewed diplomatic contacts between the United States and Iran helped ease energy prices. However, European gas storage remains 75% full, compared with 83% a year earlier, leaving the region exposed to supply risks during the winter heating season.
