Borsa Istanbul rebounds in November
Borsa Istanbul began November with a strong recovery following sharp sell-offs that started in mid-September and continued throughout October.
The BIST 100 index, which had faced pressure from developments involving investment funds, gained 6.72% during the week of October 30–November 6, closing at 11,482.60 points. Buying interest in banking stocks particularly supported the index's recovery, while investors shifted their focus to whether the November rally could continue.
Historical performance data for Borsa Istanbul shows that October has generally been a relatively weak month, while November has tended to deliver stronger results. Easing selling pressure from investment fund liquidations and recovering risk appetite have supported expectations for November. However, analysts believe that foreign investor activity, corporate earnings, and developments in global markets will be key factors in determining whether the rally can be sustained.
