Dalio issues key warning on US Treasuries
Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio said declining demand for US Treasuries from China and Japan could pose a significant risk to the bond market.
Dalio highlighted the United States’ substantial reliance on foreign capital to finance its debt.
Dalio said China no longer wants to continue accumulating US Treasuries for economic and geopolitical reasons, while Japan is also seeking to pull back some of the financing it has historically provided to the US. He also reiterated his warning that the US could face a potential debt crisis within three years.
