Erdoğan addresses fund market developments

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said recent developments in Türkiye’s fund markets do not pose a threat to the broader economy.

Speaking at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s new legislative year, Erdoğan said developments in the capital markets are being closely monitored and that the economic administration continues to work in coordination with relevant institutions.

Erdoğan had previously said the problems in the fund market were limited to a small part of the market and did not represent a risk spreading across the financial system. As work on funds undergoing liquidation continues, administrative and legal measures are planned to protect investor rights and strengthen the functioning of the capital markets.
