Eurozone current account surplus narrows to €7.7 billion
The Eurozone's non-seasonally adjusted (NSA) current account recorded a €7.7 billion surplus.
The previous surplus was revised downward from €36.5 billion to €35.9 billion, indicating a substantial narrowing in the region's external balance.
The seasonally adjusted current account surplus also declined to €8.7 billion, compared with €27.628 billion in the previous period. The decline in both measures suggests a weaker external balance, making the figures relevant to the euro's outlook and the broader economic performance of the Eurozone.
