Türkiye introduces TL 1 million interim payments for liquidated funds

A new legal regulation concerning investment funds ordered to be liquidated by Türkiye's Capital Markets Board (CMB) on September 17, 2026, entered into force following its publication in the Official Gazette on October 27.

Under Law No. 7596, investors in certain funds whose liquidation processes have not yet been completed may receive interim payments of up to TL 1 million. Investors with a net investment amount below TL 1 million will be eligible for a payment based on their calculated entitlement, while those with investments exceeding that threshold will be subject to a maximum interim payment limit of TL 1 million.

The regulation aims to facilitate the liquidation of fund assets, recover resources removed from funds through unlawful transactions, and recover investors' losses from responsible parties. The liquidation process will be conducted under CMB supervision, while recovered amounts will be held in separate fund-specific accounts within the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF). Interim payments will depend on the funds' available cash resources and specified conditions, meaning payments will not be made automatically to all investors. Any interim payments received will be deducted from investors' final liquidation claims.
