Gazprom returns to profit in first nine months
Russian energy giant Gazprom reported a net profit of 114.8 billion rubles (approximately $1.4 billion) in the first nine months of 2026, reversing a loss of 170.3 billion rubles in the same period last year.
The company's total revenue increased 4% year over year to 4.44 trillion rubles, while third-quarter net profit reached 36.4 billion rubles.
Gazprom had previously reported a loss of 69.2 billion rubles in the second quarter of 2026 and a loss of 159.6 billion rubles in the third quarter of 2025. Having suffered significant declines in natural gas sales to Europe following the Russia-Ukraine war, the company aims to increase shipments to Russia's domestic market and China to support its revenue.
