Guidewire acquires insurance AI developer
Guidewire Software announced on October 27 that it would acquire UK-based hyperexponential for $1.7 billion in cash, with an additional $400 million contingent on revenue targets.
The total potential transaction value is $2.1 billion. Guidewire plans to finance $1 billion of the acquisition through new term loans.
hyperexponential develops AI-powered risk assessment and pricing software for commercial insurers. The acquisition could strengthen Guidewire's position in insurance automation and underwriting technology. Completion is expected in the second quarter of Guidewire's fiscal 2027, while the additional consideration remains performance-dependent.
