Silver plunges 5%
Silver prices fell sharply as US-Iran talks stalled, oil prices climbed and US Treasury yields moved higher.
Silver dropped 5% to $61 an ounce, while gold also came under heavy pressure, falling as much as 3%.
Higher oil prices have fueled inflation concerns and strengthened expectations that the Fed could keep interest rates elevated for longer. Market expectations for another 25-basis-point Fed rate hike in October are also adding pressure on precious metals.
