AI-Assisted Cyberattacks Target South Korean Banks
U.S. cybersecurity company CrowdStrike said a suspect believed to be based in China used artificial intelligence tools in attacks targeting South Korea's financial sector.
The attacks reportedly targeted at least nine South Korean banks from late September.
According to the company's assessment, the attacker used the Chinese-developed ARTEX tool alongside Anthropic's Claude Code system. The findings highlight security risks for financial institutions arising from the use of AI agents in cyberattacks.
