Netherlands trade surplus rises to €8.3 billion
The Netherlands' trade surplus increased to €8.3 billion in August 2026.
A trade surplus means that export revenues exceeded import expenditures, while the increase points to an improvement in the country's external trade balance.
According to Statistics Netherlands (CBS), goods export volumes increased 4.9% year over year in August, while import volumes rose 2.0%. Stronger export growth was a positive development for the country's external trade performance.
