IMF cuts Türkiye's growth forecast
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lowered its 2026 growth forecast for Türkiye's economy from 2.9% to 2.7% in its October World Economic Outlook report.
The institution maintained its 2027 growth projection at 3.6%. Meanwhile, year-end inflation in Türkiye is forecast at 31.2% for 2026 and 26.5% for 2027.
While downgrading its growth outlook for Türkiye, the IMF revised its global economic forecast upward. The projected growth rate for the world economy in 2026 was raised from 3% to 3.1%, while the 2027 forecast remained unchanged at 3.4%. The report highlighted ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, elevated energy prices, and trade tensions as key downside risks to global economic growth.
