ING: Yen and Swiss franc emerge as alternatives to the dollar
ING stated that increasing selling pressure across global markets is reshaping investors' safe-haven preferences.
According to the bank's analysis, the US dollar is losing some of its appeal as a safe-haven currency, while the Japanese yen and Swiss franc are gaining prominence. Growing risk aversion in financial markets is prompting investors to reassess their positions in foreign exchange markets.
ING also warned that developments in the French bond market could put pressure on the euro. Rising risks associated with French government bonds were identified as a potential factor affecting investor confidence in euro-denominated assets. The bank's assessment suggests that global uncertainty is influencing not only equity markets but also safe-haven preferences among major currencies.
