Intel falls on tsmc possibility
Intel shares fell about 2% on October 5 after Elon Musk indicated that TSMC could also participate in the Terafab chip project.
Intel had previously committed support to Terafab, and possible TSMC participation raised questions about Intel’s share of the project. Musk indicated that TSMC could supplement manufacturing capacity rather than replace Intel.
The development could be a short-term negative for Intel but positive for TSMC if it generates additional manufacturing demand. Expanding AI chip capacity could also support broader growth expectations for semiconductor and technology stocks.
