Monthly inflation accelerates again in Istanbul

According to data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the Istanbul Consumer Price Index rose 2.11% from the previous month in September. Monthly inflation stood at 1.66% in August. Annual inflation, meanwhile, declined from 34.96% to 33.55%.

Education recorded the sharpest price increase in September, with costs rising 22.59% month-on-month. Transportation prices increased 4.60%, miscellaneous goods and services rose 2.96%, and restaurants and hotels increased 2.42%. While annual inflation in Istanbul continued to decline, monthly price increases regained momentum.
