Sweden producer inflation accelerates to 11.2%
Sweden's Producer Price Index (PPI) increased 3.4% month over month, significantly accelerating from the previous 0.9% rise.
The stronger monthly increase indicated growing upward pressure on producer prices and production costs.
Annual producer inflation climbed from 6.8% to 11.2%. Rising producer prices could intensify inflationary pressures if higher costs are passed on to consumers. The data may encourage Sweden's central bank, the Riksbank, to remain cautious about interest-rate cuts, potentially influencing the Swedish krona and bond yields.
