Japan manufacturing PMI holds steady

Japan's manufacturing PMI remained unchanged at 53.3, matching the previous reading. The index stayed above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction, indicating continued growth in manufacturing activity.

The stable PMI reading suggested that Japan's manufacturing sector maintained its expansion momentum. The positive outlook for industrial activity could support economic growth expectations while influencing Bank of Japan (BoJ) monetary policy assessments and movements in the Japanese yen.
