Global giants warn of new price hikes

Rising energy, raw material, and transportation costs driven by the war between the United States and Iran are prompting global consumer goods manufacturers to consider further price increases.

Industry giants including Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble (P&G), and Reckitt have warned that cost pressures could persist into 2027. Coca-Cola CEO Henrique Braun highlighted rising logistics expenses, while Reckitt CEO Kris Licht noted that consumers, particularly in Europe and North America, are facing financial strain and that higher operating costs could be passed on through product prices.

P&G raised its estimated profit impact from energy, raw material, and transportation expenses from $1 billion to $1.4 billion. Company executives emphasized that cost increases of this magnitude would be difficult to absorb without raising prices. Meanwhile, Nestlé said it aims to limit price increases, warning that additional hikes could negatively affect consumer demand. The assessments from major multinational companies suggest that further price increases could be on the horizon for food, beverages, and household cleaning products.
