Meta unveils $95 billion funding plan
Meta Platforms announced plans on October 26 to raise up to $95 billion in equity financing for its artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion.
The company launched an initial $35 billion offering of common and mandatory convertible preferred securities. It also intends to establish a separate programme for up to $60 billion in non-voting Class C share sales, potentially beginning in the first quarter of 2027.
Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom expressed non-binding interest in purchasing up to $5 billion of shares in the initial offering. The financing could support further investment in data centres and AI computing capacity. However, additional equity issuance may dilute existing shareholders, and there is no guarantee that the proposed $60 billion programme will be established or fully utilised.
