Microsoft earnings put Azure in focus
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is scheduled to report fiscal first-quarter 2027 earnings after the U.S. stock market closes on Wednesday, October 28. Wall Street expects approximately $90.61 billion in revenue and $4.72 in earnings per share.
Covering the July–September period, the report will provide an important update on how the company's expanding cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence investments are translating into financial performance.
Investors will closely monitor Azure revenue growth, AI service monetization, data-center capital expenditures and operating margins.
The impact of infrastructure spending on free cash flow and management's guidance for the following quarter will be particularly important. Strong cloud growth could support Microsoft shares, while rising costs that outpace revenue expansion could pressure the stock and the broader technology sector.
