Egypt's annual inflation falls to 13.9%
Egypt's annual urban consumer inflation declined to 13.9% in September 2026 from 14.5% in August.
Inflation reached its lowest level in seven months, marking the second consecutive month of slower annual price growth.
However, monthly consumer prices rose 1.3%, accelerating from a 0.1% increase in the previous month. Slower annual inflation could support the Central Bank of Egypt's room for interest-rate cuts, although persistent monthly price pressures may warrant a cautious monetary policy approach.
