Oracle launches $20 billion funding plan
Oracle filed regulatory documents on November 2 for bond and equity offerings targeting a combined $20 billion.
The move advances the financing strategy outlined on October 28. The bond offering comprises six tranches maturing between 2029 and 2046. Proceeds may support AI and cloud infrastructure investment, debt repayment and other corporate purposes. Oracle had $125.34 billion in borrowings as of August 31.
The offerings could help finance Oracle's large-scale data center expansion. However, substantial debt, elevated capital expenditure and exposure to OpenAI-linked projects remain important investor concerns. Shares fell approximately 4% in premarket trading, while bond pricing and the number of shares to be issued have not been finalized.
