Oil prices fall on hopes of peace

Global oil prices declined on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, as expectations grew that the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran could come to an end.

The possibility of a diplomatic resolution helped ease concerns over energy supplies in the Middle East. Brent crude fell to approximately $115 per barrel in morning trading, although prices remained close to their highest levels in six months.

Geopolitical developments in the region continue to play a decisive role in oil market pricing. Attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and risks to energy infrastructure, in particular, have prevented supply security concerns from fully subsiding despite hopes for a diplomatic solution. Persistently elevated oil prices remain significant for the global inflation outlook and central bank interest rate policies, while investors are closely monitoring further developments and statements from the United States and Iran.
