Markets turn to Fed, ECB and BoJ rate decisions

Global markets are focused on interest rate decisions from the Federal Reserve (Fed), European Central Bank (ECB), and Bank of Japan (BoJ) during the week of October 26–30.

Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, rising oil prices, and selling pressure in technology stocks have weakened investor risk appetite, while all three central banks are expected to keep their policy rates unchanged. Brent crude approaching $117 per barrel and increasing energy costs are intensifying concerns about global inflation.

In the United States, the Fed's interest rate decision is scheduled for Wednesday, followed by economic growth and Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) data on Thursday. Earnings reports from Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet will also be closely monitored during the week. In Europe, the ECB's rate decision on Thursday will take center stage, while the BoJ's announcement is scheduled for Friday. In Türkiye, investors will follow unemployment data on Tuesday and foreign trade balance figures on Wednesday. Central bank statements and economic indicators are expected to play a key role in determining the direction of global markets throughout the week.
