Rwanda's annual inflation rises to 17.2%
Rwanda's annual consumer inflation increased to 17.2% in September 2026 from 15.7% in August.
According to the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose 20.9% year over year, while transport prices increased 22.4%.
Annual energy inflation reached 45%, highlighting persistent price pressures. Accelerating inflation could weaken household purchasing power and encourage the National Bank of Rwanda to maintain a restrictive monetary policy stance.
