SpaceX announces $40 billion financing
Elon Musk said that SpaceX had closed $40 billion in debt financing for artificial intelligence processors.
He said the funding would mainly support GPU purchases scheduled for delivery in the first two quarters of next year. Reuters had previously reported that the company was seeking financing of the same size. However, it remained unclear whether final debt pricing had been agreed.
SpaceX expects fourth-quarter capital expenditure of $35 billion to $40 billion. Musk warned that AI-focused data centre providers without substantial independent revenue were facing restricted access to debt markets and could experience consolidation. His comments highlight financing risks across the AI infrastructure sector.
