Sterling reaches 17-month euro high

Sterling strengthened to its highest level against the euro in 17 months following stronger UK PMI data on October 23.

İts lowest level since May 2025, before trading around £0.8370.

Stronger UK business activity supported the pound, while weaker eurozone growth and French fiscal uncertainty weighed on the euro. Diverging economic conditions could remain an important driver of the currency pair.
