CBRT: Companies hold TL 116 billion in funds facing liquidation
An analysis published by Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) economists Ünal Seven and Kadir Gürci revealed that approximately 3,000 real-sector companies hold a combined TL 116 billion in investment funds subject to liquidation decisions by the Capital Markets Board (CMB).
As of September 15, 2026, TL 57 billion of these investments were held in money market funds, TL 31 billion in equity funds, and TL 28 billion in other unrestricted funds. Of the total fund investments, 31% belonged to companies in the services sector, 29% to industry, 27% to trade, and 13% to construction.
According to the CBRT research, companies invested in funds undergoing liquidation account for 1.2% of the real sector's total assets, 0.9% of its turnover, and 1.1% of its exports. High-risk companies whose fund investments exceed 50% of their current assets represent only 0.03% of total employment and turnover. The analysis noted that companies have maintained access to bank credit despite the liquidation process, while liquidity measures have helped limit potential risks to the real economy.
