Tech billionaires add $845 billion to their wealth
The artificial intelligence rally and gains in technology stocks have widened the wealth gap among the world’s richest people.
The combined wealth of around 100 technology billionaires in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index increased by $845 billion in the first nine months of the year, setting a record for the period.
The total wealth of technology billionaires reached $4.6 trillion, accounting for 36% of the total wealth tracked by the index. Non-tech billionaires, meanwhile, lost $62 billion over the same period. Elon Musk alone added $310 billion to his fortune, representing nearly 40% of the index’s total increase.
