Trump: We are investigating the Binance attack
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the cyberattack targeting cryptocurrency exchange Binance is under investigation.
The incident has renewed security concerns across cryptocurrency markets, while Trump's remarks indicate that the U.S. administration is also monitoring the situation. Investigations into the scale of the attack, those responsible, and its potential impact on investor assets remain ongoing.
Binance reported that the estimated value of assets affected by the security breach was $6.3 billion, with approximately $3 billion in assets frozen. Trump stated that it remains unclear whether a North Korea-linked hacking group was behind the attack. He also noted that Binance had expressed confidence in its ability to recover the stolen assets and claimed to have largely brought the situation under control, although he emphasized that the final outcome remains to be seen. Binance, meanwhile, maintained that user funds are safe.
