Trump rejects Iran’s ceasefire proposal
US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposal for a seven-day ceasefire, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing US officials.
The report claimed that Trump told his aides he expects military operations against Iran to resume after the November midterm elections.
Trump is reportedly reluctant to restart large-scale military operations, partly due to concerns about preserving declining US ammunition stockpiles. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had previously said Tehran submitted a seven-day plan to the US through intermediaries aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping traffic.
