Foreign investors' top stock buys and sells in September
Foreign investors' stock transactions attracted attention in September, a month marked by investigations into the investment fund market and sharp selling pressure on Borsa Istanbul.
According to the released data, Erdemir recorded the highest net foreign purchases at $189 million, followed by Turkish Airlines with $156.8 million and Koç Holding with $104.2 million. Other major purchases included Turkcell at $61.9 million, Tüpraş at $51 million, Rönesans Gayrimenkul at $48.2 million, and Yapı Kredi at $45.5 million. Anadolu Efes, Sabancı Holding, and Türk Telekom also ranked among the ten stocks with the highest net foreign purchases.
On the selling side, companies in the defense and energy sectors stood out. ASELSAN recorded the largest net foreign sales at $132.8 million, followed by Astor Enerji at $108.4 million. Net sales also reached $43.8 million in Katılımevim, $39.9 million in SASA Polyester, and $36.6 million each in Akbank and Efor Çay. Tera Yatırım, Destek Faktoring, Europower Enerji, and Girişim Elektrik were also among the companies facing significant foreign selling pressure. The figures indicate that foreign investors accumulated selected major industrial, transportation, and holding stocks in September while reducing their positions in certain energy, financial, and defense industry shares.
